Some Basic Bodybuilding Advice

 By Adam Sinicki

Working out and bodybuilding really is rather common sense and if you think about it you really know how to work out already. In fact the only things probably standing in your way right now are lack of will power and possibly lack of 'time'. The latter point is moot, and if you have 20 minutes at some point during the day then that's enough time to start getting into shape.

So you know everything you really need to know - about what things you are meant to eat, and about how often you are meant to work out, it's just putting it into practice that's the problem. Well then here are a few tips that can help you put that information into practice and to stop making excuses.

Accept No Excuse: There's *always* a reason not to work out whether it's because you've had a busy day, because you're having a busy day tomorrow, or because you've hurt your back. If you accept these excuses then you're not going to get into good shape because *something* will always crop up. Thus to make sure that you do build a good physique you need to take a simple stance and that's that no excuse is acceptable. You do *something* no matter the situation unless you physically can not.
Don't Work Out Alternate Days: If you work out alternate days then that will mean that you end up taking the day off tomorrow only to find that something gets in the way the day after. You've then not worked out for two days, whereas if you worked out tomorrow you would be 'entitled' to that day off. So in other words lump all your workouts together and have your days off at the weekend or something or when you need to take them. This way you'll have sessions 'in hand' when you do need some time off.

Do Something: You might not have the energy or the time to do a full workout, but that doesn't mean you can't do *something*, even if it's only a small session or only a very easy one that lasts ten minutes - such as three sets of curls or just two sets of press ups. It will still trigger an anabolic response in your body and it will still show that you don't take excuses. Even better though, often after starting to do just a few exercises you will find that you carry on and end up doing a whole workout because you'll have gotten past that psychological barrier.
